JCB World Conference

In 2006 JCB decided to exhibit its entire product range under one roof at the same time – some 120 machines – as part of its World Conference Event in a huge empty warehouse at their Power Systems plant near Derby. Pete Robinson and Nick Todd developed a rigging and lighting design for the event to create a dramatically lit exhibition space to showcase the company’s product range. We eventually hung about thirty tons of equipment from the roof structure which included a mile of truss, fifteen hundred lanterns, and nine miles of socapex cable, requiring seven hundred ways of dimming, two Jands Vista T2s and distribution for two thousand amps three phase.

The event, which was originally only scheduled to run for one day, was such a huge success that it was extended for four weeks in 2006, and has also been repeated in 2007 and 2008.
